Always leave your bathroom and kitchen taps open and perfectly positioned in the middle between hot and cold over the winter. This allows any residual water inside the mixer cartridge to expand when it freezes without cracking the expensive internal plastics. Also, be sure to remove anything from the vehicle that could burst in sub-zero temperatures (e.g. bottled drinks, glass cleaner, shampoos, and canned goods).
